Noisy air con and not cold

My air con is quite noisy and not very cold. It was regassed about 18 months ago. Is this normal. How often should the gas need topped up?

Not normal, so you need to have it checked.

When you say noisy, do you mean the A/C compressor or the fans of the climate control. If it's the fans, probably worn bearings amd only solution is new fans.

I have a similar issue, when AC light is on, I occasionally hear a loud noise coming from engine bay. Does the noise stop when you switch the AC off does the noise disappear?
I'm not sure if it's normal

Had Halfords regas the system today; They said it was reading 20 degrees at first but after regas its now 7 degrees so bit of a change!! They also said the "old" gas they extracted was about half the required amount required to operate correctly. They also said they had added a coloured die so could see possible leaks over the next week or two. The pressure test showed no obvious leaks. We will see how it goes over next few weeks. Cost 49 quid
