This seems to have been DVLA's best kept secret.

Changes to Number Plate Retention Fees

I was having a massive rant about there should be an online way of doing it the other week!
And I just paid £25 for a years retention.

Vehicle laws implemented for greedy insurance companies and DVLA are the biggest con around.

Did only take a week to get my numberplate registered and everything back to me though, took 6 weeks last time.

Numberplate spacing pisses me right off as well, fair enough if it's extreme but your pretty much allowed every type of spacing but ---- -- which would suit my plate best.
Got a rectification notice last year.

I was extending my retention for another year from 17/3 and only found out about it when they returned my cheque and the expiry date was.2025 and not the expected 2016 on the new V778.

It's very.rare and most welcome of DVLA to reduce fees:-)
