Windscreen washer not working

Post by campbec13 »

This my first post....

Recently my windscreen washer has stopped working, i am not sure if it is linked but i recently retro fitted an RNS315 stereo, DAB antenna and microphone. I initial thought it was the washer bottle motor and I replaced this but it was still not working. So i bit the bullet and brought the VCDS software which came back with the following fault, does any body have any ideas?

For reference, the headlight washers have their own pump.

The windscreen washer pump operates one.direcion for for front screen and in reverse direction for the rear washer.

With the lights switched off, can you still hear the pump. If you can't switch the lights off, put on sidelights to deactivate headlight washers?

Does the rear washer.work?

Solved. For some reason the pump went reverse when i used vcds and disassemble rear wiper. So everytime i tried to wash the windscreen it actually went to back. For my luck the back hose were shut :D

Firstly you want to turn off your headlights and listen does the pump work. If it does try to take pipes off the pump. One goes to rear wiper and another to windscreen. If the fluid comes out maybe our pipes are stuck/leaking? My problem was modifications trough vcds.

I unchecked 'rear wiper installed' box. So the pump were spinning at the wrong way when i tried to wash windscreen. Started working immedianetely when i checked the box again. :)
