Hi all,
Just wondering about the difference between the 197hp and 210hp engine (other than power!). I have a January 2009 2.0 TSI and its 197 on the log book and 197 on the sticker in the boot. However I got it remapped recently and was told the engine looked like the later model TSI and before remapping it we dyno'd it at 208hp. Does anyone know of any visual differences between the two engines?

Re: 197/210hp Difference
visually they are the same in the scirocco, ie ea888 family in both models , as opposed to the ea113 in the golf with197 bhp. the ea888 cars were known to be a slightly higher output than the 197 ea113, combined with an perhaps optimistic roller gets you those numbers. the 197 to 210 was detail change, almost certainly driven by marketing needing the early sciroccos to not be seen to have more than the then golf.
