Tweeter Problem

Post by SPEEDDRV »

Hey everyone,

When I was driving recently, I started hearing a little rattle coming from the back. I HATE RATTLES!!! :D
So, I stopped my Rocco and jumped into the rear. Music was playing and I boosted low frequencies in order to hear rattles better. I found out that the rattle was on the left side just behind driver's seat. Then, i paused music and started hitting the side. BAM, found it!! I tried on the right side and no rattles. It was near the tweeter. And what did I do next? Simple.
I started music again but worked with balance this time. I have put all to the right and could hear low, medium and high frequencies. BUT, when I changed it to the left, I could only hear low and a little bit of medium frequencies coming from the down speaker. My conclusion was that top speaker (tweeter) that only has high frequencies, wasn't working at all and it has something loose for sure. Now, the question, how can I access and replace it?

Any help friends? How can I disassemble it in order to replace my faulty speaker? It's the one on top, not bottom.

Damn... :( Speakers are a pain in the **s to replace then... I will probably just deliver it to VW folks and let them do the work. I was saving for a complete front Cayenne's 18Z Brake Kit with 350mm Brembo's... NOW IT WILL HAVE TO WAIT!! Damn speaker! :eyepop: I can't even imagine how much am I going to spend on labour!
