Soon to be a Scirocco owner

Post by jtbrown »

Hi Everyone,

I've wanted a Scirocco ever since I saw a Rising Blue Scirocco-R parked outside of my university accommodation a few years back! Sadly I can't quite afford a Scirocco R so i'm on the search for a 2.0 TSI Scirocco. I've found a Candy White Scirocco at a local dealer with 65k on the clock, it's got just about every extra going... Xenons, DSG, Tan leather seats, sunroof, cruise control, sat nav etc. It has the multi-functional steering wheel but the older style air-con controls. £12,000 sounds like a reasonable price for it, but i'm concerned about needing to service it and if anything is wrong as it's outside of warranty.. on the dash it said a service is due in 2000 miles.

I test drove it and everything was smooth, couldn't hear any knocking noises / strange noises from the engine bay etc.

Want kind of servicing costs could I expect at 65k on the clock? (It has DSG box don't know if this will need an oil change etc).

DSG oil and filter should have been done at 40k and not due again until 80k. For future reference the cost is around £180 at the dealers.

If it's due a service in 2k miles, I would try and negotiate a service as part of the deal. It really depends on the service history what needs done.and if it's been on longlife or time & distance regime. Personally, I would budget about £300.

Thanks, £300 sounds reasonable. I'll try and negotiate a service into the sale. The dealer is in the process of getting the service history, so i'm hoping that it's good as i've pretty much fell in love with the car since test driving it!
