Air Conditioning Condenser Failure

Post by m.porto »

Hi All, just had my Air Con Condenser replaced under repair warranty due to a failure in the joints where the horizontal cooling pipes meet the vertical ones - initially believed to be "Stone Damage"........... However if this card is pulled on you ask to see the condenser under a UV pen inspection and look for tiny cracks in the adjoining pipework.

A known quality issue with this part however VW will not admit it.

Also the condenser is in a very vulnerable potion as its first in line for impact when any debris goes through the front grill - ouch!

It may be worth considering a MOD of some kind with a stone guard - if anyone has such a mod can you let me know as the repair bill would potentially be hundreds..
