Bluetooth pairing issues

Post by gremage »

Hi all,

I collected my lovely 2010 2.0 TSI yesterday and absolutely love it. I am however, fairy frustrated that I seem unable to use the bluetooth. I have a Sony Xperia Z2 amd when trying to pair the phone to the car I get an error stating "phone not compatible", the car does 'see' the phone but won't pair.

I have had a look into this and it seems an issue that many people have had with newer phones and older VW's (or Audis, Seat and Skoda). I am led to believe that I could upgrade the BT module (I think the newer one was a D suffix on the same part number?) does anyone know where I could get one of these or any other advice?

Thanks in advance

If you do a search on this forum, you"ll find all the ingormation you need as it's been discussed many times along with the part number of module you need to support HFP and A2DP as opposed to rSAP.

Thanks. I've had a look and think I need a 9w7 module but was hoping for definitive answer as there's lots of responses going around about programming and 3 buttons on the roof? Not sure of the significance of these but that's what I've found so far

Module can be purchased from http://www.carsystems.pl" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; OR on ebay for probably cheaper.

Not sure about 3 buttons on the roof - never come across that rumour. Make sure you locate your BT module first, and then go about buying the replacement. It is either under the seat (I never know if it's driver or passenger, so check both) or behind the climate controls (you have to take out the radio for this)

It's 2 buttons on the roof one with an "I" symbol and the other with a "spanner" symbol. They are just fast dial buttons for VW information and VW roadside assistance respectively.

Seen them on a golf plus, but never on a 'roc. Mind you, I drive a 2010 one, so it's probably been incorporated into later models. Thanks for the info
