Possible CAT/DPF Problem with TDI 2.0 58 Plate Scirocco

Post by ed12345 »

Hi All,

Just going to throw a quick question out there reference my VW Scirocco 2.0 TDI DSG 58 Plate with 91'000 on the clock.

After owning the car for a few weeks (Bought privately S/H) it decided to throw me up a few warning lights on the dash. Due to not being a mechanic myself and only knowing a little bit about the car I took it to my trusted local garage who happily put it on their VAGCOM machine and managed to narrow the problem down to the DPF being clogged up. After taking the car to them today they replaced the DPF Differential Pressure Sensor (I think? Could possibly have been the exhaust temp sensor?) in a hope that it was just a faulty sensor and then they were going to try and Force Regen the DPF... However after replacing the sensor they were not able to do a force regen due to a Sensor just after the CAT reading a temperature of 0'c.... This meant that every time they went to force regen the DPF it simply wouldn't let them.

Would anyone know what the sensor is called so I can look at getting a new one and whether it could just be a problem with the sensor or is a more serious issue... I.E Blocked CAT?

Also if anyone has had the same problem and knows a little bit about it??

Many Thanks,

Ed.
