After replacing the inlet manifold in February,Ive been having more problems with my lovely Scirocco (2.0TSI 2008)
Firstly, one day when i had driven from Glasgow to Bristol the cooling fan stayed on after I parked up outside Travelodge. Not really unusual as it does that from time to time. When i nipped out for a fag about an hour and half later the bloody fan was still going full pelt and had drained the battery. As i was away from home the only option was to disconnect the fan when parked and reconnect when driving. This causes a slight sparking as the power goes through, until one time there was no spark and nothing happened with the fan. I had a fairly clear drive back home on the motorway and engine temp was exactly where it should be. Since i dont do much day to driving I've just let it slip down the list of priorities but turns out the control unit for the fan burned out and needs replaced. Been quoted 331 for s+f ?
So, a few days ago the epc light comes on, the engine idle is lumpy as hell then it starts auto revving, followed by the exhaust light coming on. Got a lot of fault codes on the throttle body(p1558,p0121,p0221,p1545) and a very slight loss of power now and again that day. It happened again on Sunday night during heavy rain, just the epc car to workshop msg but cleared itself after a restart. Today was seeing about the fan but asked for them to have look around the throttle body wiring as well and all is fine apparently(if they bothered to look) It drove good as new on the way home. Is this something that should seriously concern me? Could it be a bit of crap, dirty fuel or is the start of needing a new throttle body?
Oh and the passenger window has started to think there is something in the way and wont go all the way up lol getting sick of it now
