Service light

Post by JillD »

Evening! I must apologise I'm new to this!

Basically i havent long bought my scirocco 2.0 tdi 140 and my service light is on and iam currently at about 41.500 miles and was just wondering whether this is a big service? or what you lot may already know about what happens at this service with this many miles? apart from that so far absolutely love the car just need to put my stamp on it.

Thanks.

Also if anyone has the same 2.0 tdi 140 as myself any problems i may pick up on?

It depends on what has been done in the past and what age the car is. On the diesel the fuel filter gets changed at 40k on tip of the normal service items. If it's DSG the gearbox gets an oil an filter change at 40k

Brake fluid is at 3 years and then every 2 years thereafter.

Cambelt is 4 years if registered prior to 9/2009 and 5 years thereafter.

If it's displaying 700+ days to tbe next service, you are on longlife service regime and it must have been serviced very recently as the maximum duration between services on longlife is 24 months (730 days) or 18,600 miles (30,000km), whichever occurs first.
