Lower springs 30mm

Post by sp_scirocco »

Hi All,

I've read quite a few threads regarding lowering springs and many have chosen to use Eibach or H&R. I want to lower my Scirocco TSI 2.0L Manual car by 30mm. However, I was wondering if I had this done would it cause some major issues in the way I drive. The following questions sums up what worries me about this modification:

1) Can Sciroccos lowered by 30mm clear speed bumps?
2) Can I fully steer the wheels left and right without touching the arches?
3) Do the shock absorbers need tweaking since the car is lowered?

This is how low I want my car to be:

" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'm new to this forum and car modifications so please understand if asked something silly ;)

Thank you all.

Best regards,

Steven

I lowered my R which is already 10mm lower than standard roccos by another 25mm so 35mm all in all.

I only lowered it on wednesday and its settling a little lower already and i have been clearing bumps with ease. I always park in a staff car park where there are the long narrow horrible bumps and its easy through them too. I live in london which is bumps and humps city and havent experienced any problems so far. Plus the car looks great!!!

Ill be posting pictures soon. Hope this helps mate

The answer is yes to all to your first 2 questions and no to no3, the Scirocco is 40mm to high to start with so lowering 35mm brings it down to normal cars such as a golf, Passat ect, who ever designed the suspension must have thought it was for a 4x4
