poor aux sound

Post by Shaun1982 »

Evening guys,
When using the aux in the sound from my HTC one is what I'd describe as shocking.
Anyone else experience this? I've tried purchased songs, downloaded songs, both to which sound like the speakers are wayyyyyy blown.Infact so did the iPad through the media in too.
However the fiancees iPhone 5 sounded better through the aux. Cds & radio are absolutely fine albeit a bit lacking in the bass department

Have you tried adjusting the aux input level in the settings. Set it to low.

Don't think I've even seen that, only spied the usual bass trebble fade & whatever acoustic feedback is,which seems to make no difference either on or off

This has happened to other members and when they have changed the input level to low the sound is much better. Its in the same menu as bass and treble etc.

How do you get in that menu? I've not got Bluetooth or nav if it makes any difference?

Try turning the volume down on the HTC one and instead use the car's volume control. Basically you are causing the distortion by driving the input to hard, I suspect it sounds ok on the iphone as it has a volume limiter as per EU regs about deafening yourself with loud music.

Put the car volume half way and the HTC one volume on zero and then slowly increase the HTC volume and see if that helps

Whats your equaliser set to on the htc? Is the lead pluged all the way In. Dodgy lead? My samsung s4 sound quality is rubbish compared to my old iphone.

I'll try that charl, I've never had the car volume over twelve so it's not like it's only high volume it's not liking it.
Devil, it's a new lead, even tried my mates lead too, the HTC only has beats on or beats off, think I've tried both already though. Leads definitely all the way in too.
After having two mk4 golfs in the past I thought this stereo would be equally as good, maybe a tad better being about 10 years between them lol

I'd recommend installing PowerAmp. Can get it from play store. Its got some very handy equalization tools. Transformed my HTC One.

This advice has probably just saved me £'s ! The sound was so poor in Walter that the first thing I did was buy a set of Focal VR165's and am waiting to get them fitted - may just send them back now I've found this thread ? Cheers guys

If it helps mine seems to work just fine now without any apps etc. I also didn't get on with the PowerAmp app.
