left mirror folding problem

Post by TranceTrouble »

Hello all got a quick question,

Driving around my scirocco for two weeks now and noticed within the first week that my left mirror didn't fold in, right side does. It takes its time, but i read that is a known issue.
Now i was looking into if it could be a fuse problem, quickly scanned through the fuse list and already removed the fuse SC23 - Door controllers - front electric windows, but that only took down the adjustment of both mirrors. But the right mirror still folded in and out and left didn't.

I just noticed that there is another fuse for the door controllers (SC12-Central locking) does this also fuse the folding motors for both mirrors?
Can anybody explain to me what the doorcontrollers control besides the windows and adjustment for the mirrors? also heating of the mirrors and folding?

In the thread of Shaun, about the folding mirrors, i noticed the following image could it just be that the wires are disconnected? did anyone else had this issue before?

I might have a look myself tomorrow evening and do some measurements. otherwise i will take it to the dealer this friday to let them have a look, but i like to know if i can figure it out myself with my electrical background first. :D

finally got it fixed,
the previous owner must have had a problem with the mirror or broke it, anyway they had it replaced by a mirror that didnt have the automatic folding mechanism.

Mirrors both seem to go in or out instantly, as i turn the knob now :)
