Hi all,
This is probably going to be a garage call but! Has anyone else had issues with the small DRL's and fixed them at home?? I have virtually no car maintenance experience but if this is just a bulb that needs changed I'll have a go. Every now and again I get a yellow caution on the dash that indicates the left light is out. Restarting the engine fixes this. Awakward at motorway speeds though.... think its a garage fix??
Appreciate any thoughts!
Cheers
Paul

Hi Paul,
Well - not had that issue, but if restarting the engine fixes it, a new bulb wont cure the underlying problem. Sounds like some kind of electronics issue. I am inclined to say take it into the garage (which is what I would do).

Re: Left daytime running lamp - intermittent failure
When you say that an engine start fixes it - do you mean the dash warning goes out ?
how about the sidelight bulb ? does it work at all ? is it a standard 'filament' type bulb or has it replaced it with an LED one ?
if the bulb doesnt work at all , or its an LED one - then the first thing i'd do is replace the bulb - its a piece of cake to do and just requires the removal of 1 screw (underneath the indicator/sidelight unit) , pull the lamp assy out , then remove the bulb and holder from the back of the unit , fit a new bulb and then pop it all back together.
it's certainly worth a try before you take it to a garage

Many thanks for the replies guys! Not been on the site for a while hence just replying now. I'll try changing the bulb first. Yes Lee, the light comes back on and then goes off again maybe 30 or so later. There is no pattern as such to it.
