RNS No directions on MFD

Post by Jesser »

Hi guys,

I have just gotten my new RNS installed in my Scirocco, not sure if it is a RNS-310 or RNS-315 though. But I do not have any form of nav info on my MFD. Is it true that this can be fixed by using VCDS?
I'm asking this because I know nobody with a cable and I want to be sure about it being able to be fixed before I will look for someone with a cable.

Thanks,

Jesser

Yes you will need a VCDS.
To renable change the following:

37 - Navigation Controller Module
Byte 07
Bit 7: Communication Instrument Cluster via Operation and Display Protocol (BAP)
0 = Display Data Protocol (DDP)
1 = Operation and Display Protocol (BAP) [Bedien und Anzeige Protokoll]

If you have a white character MFD select BAP
If you have a red character MFD, select non-BAP (DDP)

Well I think I have a little problem here, the autoscan seems to fail and the BAP function is not displayed where it should be... What could be the cause of this?

When you say fail what do you mean? You get function not supported by gateway?
If this is the case the quickest fix is to disconnect your battery for 2min and try again.
