Basically having a 'mare with my 10 plate 122 roc. Only had for 5months. Bought it from VW with 25k on clock and been to and fro to VW since. First with the noisy rattle at start (which is probably normal afterall) but they changed the tensioner, camshaft adjuster etc etc (never fixed the noise anyway). Anyway, it seemed to be pumping out white smoke/vapour..was prepared to put it down to the cold weather but it never went, even after 1hr or mway driving. No drop in coolant level, oil looks fine so no idea where this vapour is coming from.
Anyway, VW have it again and now they think its a seized tappet(s). Anyone ever heard of this before? is this even plausible?
Oh, and have the annoying boot rattle/bump too..
