Post by danstederz »

Hello.

I am new to the scirocco scene

I just brought a 2011 scirocco r with a rns315 radio/nav the salesman said it has bluetooth but I have tried to set it up but the phone button just mutes anything that's on I read the manual and I can't find any settings for blue tooth anywhere just wondering if anyone can help me?
Thanks

Double check the car has Bluetooth as it was.an.option up until the back end of 2011 (Cars ordered after Aug 2011)

The BT Module, if fitted, is located under the driver's seat. Also, a phone menu is available on the DIS by stepping through the screens using the left/right buttons on the right of the MFSW.

Do.a BT search.using your phone and it should come up as."VW PHONE".

My guess is the salesman didn't know what he was talking about.

Hey

I'm pretty new here too but I have spent time looking round the forum and was a little annoyed that my dealer did the same to me. (They know nothing)

From what I've read we both have the buttons to activate the bluetooth but no actual bluetooth module.

Thanks for the help guys
I rang the salesman back up and gave him a polite talking to ;) he looked into the car and said it hasn't got it and that he told me false information and that they are going to install it for free so all good :)

Thought that would be the case. Glad you got a satisfactory conclusion.

Quite right, push for the OEM solution especially as it's very good and integrates with.the head unit, MFDW and DIS seamlessly.

Anyone know a rough cost for the retrofit oem?

I had a go at the dealer over not having the cruise control the car had been advertised with so I got them to fit that. Only realised the bluetooth a few months into owning the car.

toddles? HAHA!

If you DIY, the only cost to you would be tools and the module itself.

I bought the bluetooth module + wiring loom + mic for 211 euros (postage is included in that), which is equivalent to about £185. Tools you need are plastic trim removal tools and torx screw driver + bits.

Does anyone know if it's possible to retro fit bluetooth to a Scirocco that doesn't have the full multifunction display and has no controls on the steering wheel? My car was a pre-reg and bluetooth is the only thing that I wish it had. If it had bluetooth fitted from the factory, would this have upgraded the display and wheel as part of it?

I Am guessing your car has a RED MFD?! or is it just not a highline? Either way, bluetooth can be fitted BUT you wont have full functionality. The fiscon bluetooth kit could be the option for you

You should be able to get one that functions with it. Have a look around for part numbers and see what you come up with - I would help on specific part numbers, but it's been a while since I did mine and I have lost some of the knowledge.

I suspect that if you hook one up, it will just be operational via the RCD/RNS unit itself - you might not have a display through the MFD, but I might be wrong
