Intermittent light bulb issue

Post by yellowplum »

This morning I started the car as per usual and got a message telling me the side light was out. Took a look and yes it wasn't working, didn't think anything of it and would order up a replacement bulb later.

When I got to my first point I switched the car off and on again and the warning had disappeared, at the second point I again turned the car on and off and it was back again. This happened throughout the day, it came on and off repeatedly. Clearly the bulb isn't blown, haven't managed to diagnose anything yet. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this issue?

Sounds like a bad connection. Check the bulb is tight in the bulb holder and that there is no water ingress. Also worth changing the bulb as I've had bulbs operate intermittent before finally giving up rhe ghost. Replace with a good OEM quality bulb.

Not an expert myself but i would consider replacing with a good qulity oem bulb too. I find LED sidelights can cause problems
