Hi Rocco fans,
I'm 24 and I've just passed my driving test, I want my first car to be a 1.4 TSI because I want to buy Acari that I want now and I think will still be relevant in 5 years, and I'm going to have to go second hand. I have a few things I need some advise about.
Firstly I know the 1.4 TSI is prone to engine faults with the pistons and I understand the 24S4 update which was rolled out should have corrected that, when it's not being serviced in a VW garage, would they still apply this update?
Secondly, what sort of mileage are these engines likely to cover (I understand this will mostly be an estimate) but if I was to buy one with 60-70k on the clock, I want to know if well maintained and serviced as regularly as advised that I would get a good 5-10 years out of one still now
Any help is appreciated
Thanks
Lewy

Hi Lewy,
oddly enough - this was discussed the other day - see http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... =2&t=15354" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I will lock this thread as we have another one going, but yes - full VW Service history is essential on these engines if looking at high mileage examples.
