Passenger Mirror pointing downwards on reverse

Post by S8N »

Hi Roccos,

According to the manual, the passenger mirror should be able to be set to move slightly downwards on reverse (makes reverse parking/alloy damage prevention easier). Can't seem to see the option in the menu MFD though. Am I missing something in my half asleep-ness this morning?

Done a whopping 20 miles in the car so  but going to take her for a run at the weekend. LOVE the damn thing already!

I don't suppose with the latest Rocs and VAGCOM this is doable somehow without folding mirrors?

Sadly not - it requires dedicated mirror unit with memory function.

Really - but the mirror is a different unit (with memory function)?

Yep. This sits between the gateway and the ecu.
Has lots of other functions as well!

Lee's mirrors are motorized (folding). Nobody has figured out how acheive this function on a Roc.

Pity it's so expensive - would have been similar price to just get the folding mirrors in the first place :D

Although that made me think - if it is indeed possible to do with the Polar box without any hardware mod to the mirror, there must be a setting somewhere in VAGCOM?

I paid £180 for a brand new one from the group buy, has a digital boost gauge and mirror dipping (plus lots of other nice things) but alone is worth £180
