climate control
i notice when i have climate control on automatic and i change the temp settings the blower fan does not increase or decrease fan speed,i have to do it manually, shouldnt this be automatic,be grateful for any thoughts on it
Re: climate control
It will only do it if the temperature difference request is significant enough to require the assistance of the fan. This would normally happen when cooling in summer.

Re: climate control
As above, but you could try "Auto" on the other fan mode to see if that makes any difference.
If you push "Auto" once the LED on the left hand corner of the switch lights up and a small fan symbol appears on the display next to the word "Auto"
If you push "Auto" again the LED on the right hand corner of the switch lights up and a larger fan symbol appears on the display next to the word "Auto"

The fan symbol I an talking about appears on the RCD/RNS display when you push the "Auto" button. It appears right next to the word "Auto" on the display and it has 2 distinct sizes depending on how many times the "Auto" button is pressed.cookie9561 wrote:i can adjust temp from 16 degrees to 29 and fan speed does not increase from 2 lights, dont have any fan symbols that i can see,fan speed stays same until i move it to low or hi then fan comes on full blast as it should

Re: climate control
No problem mate, possibly you have the version with the digital temp display above each temp control knob, which I believe doesn't display info on RCD display

Re: climate control
One thing to remember with the Climatronic system is that if the car is cold and you call for heat it will not ramp up the fan until there is heat available - you can reduce the time it takes for this to happen on the TDI models by pressing the a/c button (I know it sounds back to front) - in cooler external temperatures it switches on an auxiliary electric heating circuit which gets warmth in to the cabin in a minute or two even on very cold mornings.... this is the argument for always aswitching on a/c at the start of every journey no matter if its winter or summer. The only time is not going to make much difference is the few times when the requested cabin temperature, the actual cabin temperature and the external temperature are are very close to one another.

Re: climate control
Good advice - I always tend to just leave the A/C on in my car and it made literally no difference on MPG (in a Megane III). Can imagine the Rocco will be similar when it finally arrives.Mark V wrote:One thing to remember with the Climatronic system is that if the car is cold and you call for heat it will not ramp up the fan until there is heat available - you can reduce the time it takes for this to happen on the TDI models by pressing the a/c button (I know it sounds back to front) - in cooler external temperatures it switches on an auxiliary electric heating circuit which gets warmth in to the cabin in a minute or two even on very cold mornings.... this is the argument for always aswitching on a/c at the start of every journey no matter if its winter or summer.
