Alloy Wheel Touch up Paint

Post by markjp »

Do VW do touch up paint for Alloy Wheels.

I've got some minor damage to one of my Lugano's and it seems a bit OTT to get the whole wheel refurbished.

Look up Wurth German alloy wheel paint.
It matches pretty much all german oem alloy wheels.

No.

After they said VW don't do a touch up for alloys I thought it would insult their intelligence if I quoted them a part no.

Maybe I phone again and just go straight in there with the part no. and don't mention alloy wheels.

These are dealers, we have a million & one examples on here of owners & purchasers having to insult their intelligence & tell them the facts because often they don't have a clue & if it involves reading beyond the first page it seems to be too much hard work in many cases & so they say no or guess.

My own example this week car booked in for its long life service which is clearly written in on the appointment book & everywhere in my service book, get it home check service record "Long life oil used? No" & service interval reset to 10k kms  took it straight back in the following morning & clarified why they couldn't read the appointment book, service record or why they didn't know the applicable oil standard for an engine used in their very own range, needless to say they redid it rather quick & got a grilling over what had been used. That one won't be getting any recommendations apart from where to go I will be doing it myself from now on without a second thought.
