I've had a search on here and can't find anything...
Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but my Dad has just bought a Golf 1.4 TSI 140bhp - great car.
I know this car has a Turbocharger and a Supercharger so I assume the TSI stands for Turbocharged Supercharged Ingection.
Question is, does the 2.0 TSI Scirocco have a Supercharger and if not have I got the meaning of TSI wrong?
Supercharger - TSI

Re: Supercharger - TSI
I think so,
its only the 1.4 Scirocco thats supercharged / turbocharged its TFSI, T probably means turbo, but the FSI is the engine designation, probably means something in german, the 2.0 is only turbocharged.

Re: Supercharger - TSI
Volkswagen have decided to change the way the aconyms works...
From now on, all petrol engine (regardless of wether or not they have turbos or supercharges) will all be given the TSI extension.
All diesels will be given the tdi extension.
This is why you can get a 1.4 TSI and a 2.0 TSI
Don't ask why as I think its confusing.
Also, the 1.4 TSI has a turbo and a supercharger.
The 2.0 only has a turbo.

This is what i understood it to mean too.Evil Derboy wrote:Doesn't TFSI stand for Turbo, Fuel Stratified Injection? This is what it stands for on the TT. So in turn wouldn't TSI stand for Turbo Stratified Injection? As I believe that the 2.0 engine in the Scirocco is the same as that used in the 2.0 TT.
IF IT'S NOT BROKEN
I'VE NOT TOUCHED IT YET !!
