After the first weekend...

A few thoughts after being able to drive the car on its first long journey over the weekend...

- The fuel tank is quite small, holding only about 50 litres, meaning more frequent than desired pit stops, since...
- Can't get the mpg above 35 for any sustained period, drops to about 20mpg could urban, up to about 28mpg around town, up to about 35mpg on the motorway. Managed about 39mpg at about 60mph, but...
- It's almost impossible to drive economically! - The exhaust rumbles so nicely, and pops upon gear up-change that you find yourself putting your foot down at almost any opportunity :D As a result, 70mph is very difficult to maintain.
- All the above is not helped by the turbo, which kicks in around 1500rpm, which forces you involuntarily to race anyone else at the lights, or belongside you, as you leave them eating your dust...
- Still not found my ideal seating position yet, will have to refine it over time... Thanks for the tip, I'll have a play around, though you don't really feel it's a bad position until after half an hour or so (unless it's obviously bad of course!)
- Oh, and I've been trying to drive it conservatively, since it's not ran in yet, and only has about 300 miles on the clock.
