Head Unit & Bluetooth upgrade

Post by steveperry1973 »

Hi there, just took proud possession of a 2009 Rocco and love it!! What i dont like though is the pants head unit thats in there. Its the OEM one but a very basic one i'd say.

I want to install a new RNS 510 and bluetooth module so i can run my iphone 5. I have the white dot matrix dash display and steering controls.

With my limited knowledge and reading previous posts on here can someone please point me in the right direction? Is this the module i need?http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... ink:top:en i was looking at the RNS 510 with the star button and sat nab. Would i need anything else or should that be it? I also see people talking about coding the BT any ideas where i could get that done? Im in Bournemouth or can anyone do it?

I really appreciate any help guys, thanks.

I've got a bit of experience in doing this, so I can give some advice.
Good you have a white mfd, you will be able to get full connectivity to the Bluetooth module this way. The way you have posted the eBay link is not ideal, as I can't click it to check.
Do you have any Bluetooth at all installed? What stereo is in there now?

Edit: by experience, I mean I've installed the Bluetooth module into my car from scratch. I'm getting an rns510 soon, but later in the year.
I'd advice to go for the latest version rns, but what's more important is the maps version which I think is v9. I doubt there is a massive lot between h and p
