Boot not opening - Or Rear Wiper

So today, I decided to install a cheap tracking device into my scirocco, i had a old iPhone 3G lying around, so jailbroke it, and have spliced it into the boots cigarette lighter...

long story short, that works fine - but now i cant open my boot? AND the rear wiper doesnt work - which leads me to think they are linked, either on the same line, or by a fuse?

The key doesnt open the boot, nor does the switch on the drivers door. All my fuses appear to be fine and when i scan with VCDS i get the following error:

ill take it to VW, but i imagine they will get mardy due to me splicing the cigarette lighter.

may or may not be of help. my previous Golf had the same problem, but i discovered the wires between the car and the bootlid had become frayed and power to rear wiper, boot release and fog and reverse lights, along with rear window heater was lost, i fixed this using the usual amateur wire joining technique you learn at 12 years of age. but that was a 6year old car, woulnt fancy doing the same to the scirocco, so id probably stick a new fuse in regardless. are these other auxilaries working? it did show up on the dash as a fault with the light.

I found my rear wipers will not work if the boot is not closed and latched/locked. try pushing down on your boot to relock it and try unlatching it again

Thanks guys, tried everything... It's in tomorrow so hopefully they will fix it...
