Fog light surrounds

Post by sbull92 »

Just wondering if anyone knows if there is a trick to removing the fog light surrounds, the instructions say to push it up and then push to the middle of the car to get it off, but I can't get it unclipped by pushing it up.

Do you have to use a bit of force to get it off as I didn't try too hard not wanting to break it haha.

Also, anyone know if these work in sidelights?

Get your fingers in the holes and give it a yank, that's it, will come straight off, mine does anyway. These LED's do work in front sidelights and rear number plate lights but they are susceptible to damp and I have got through two sets of them in about 3 months, currently looking for something more reliable

So do mean to just yank it off by pulling towards me or do what it says in the instructions but use more force.

Ahh that doesn't sound great haha, already on the way now though so will give them a whirl and see what happens

Thanks

A good tip is to pour warm water over the plastic cover. It helps when taking it off. When I changed mine I thought if I pull any harder it will snap. But it didnt just needs a lot of force.

Fingers in holes and quick tug towards you does the trick, off in 2 seconds

Right guys, sorry to be a pain in the arse but can't get these bloody covers off for the life of me.

I've watched the video, read the manual and managed to get as far as getting the two spiky bits on the inside edge unclipped and am able to slide it a bit towards the middle of the car.

The problem is I can't get them off from there, they seem to be stuck on the top, I've tried warm water, prying with a screwdriver but they won't budge and pulled with all of my strength.

Am i missing something?

Thanks everyone

Thanks a lot guys, just managed it today, prised it off with a screwdriver wrapped in a cloth and worked a dream.
