Bluetooth query again sorry!!

Post by panasonicman »

I have the 2009 Bluetooth premium in my scirocco 2.0tsi GT car the rsap one. My mobile contract is up and this is my chance to get a phone what finally links with it (never been able with my desire S HTC). I'm thinking of the Samsung galaxy 3. Looking on the net I'm getting inconclusive advise whether it will pair. Have anyone on here got any experience or advise?
Thanks

The bluetooth of that era uses rSAP profile, as you say, which is limited to some very old Nokias. Modern phones use Hands Free Profile (HFP) so won't connect.

Best thing to do is to swap out the bluetooth module under the driver's seat for one of the latest ones.

Plenty of threads on what you need so have a search.

Don't know why the wikipedia site said it will but I'm 99.999% sure it won't.

I appreciate it's confusing, which is why it's the subject that there seems to be the most queries with along with headlights being DRLs subject.:-)

Just a heads up please be aware that a Samsung galaxy s3 will pair (faultlessly) out of the box with the older Bluetooth rsap module I have had it for 10 days out of the box no problems! the Samsung s4 will pair also so happy days no need for an expensive module upgrade
