rotary polisher and werkstat kit

Hi, here is the detailing kit I have

Jetwash
Tardis
Iron-X
Clay bar
Werkstat Prime Acrylic chemical paint cleaner
Werkstat Acrylic Jett Trigger spray sealant
Werkstat Acrylic Glos quick detailing spray

But I have just ordered EP801 Rotary Polisher - Menzerna Kit

What is the best way to use the above products and the ep801 rotary polisher and menzema ?
Can I use both if so what order ?

Thats a nice kit you have there mate.

The only place to start is to ask have you used a rotary polisher before?...If not, before going near your car with it, I would strongly suggest you head over to Detailing World forum and read & digest the detailed and massively helpful guides to machine polishing...with inexperienced hands these machines can quickly do real damage to your paintwork.

Regarding your detail routine, I personally would go for the following procedure:
Wash
IronX
Tardis
Clay
Polish - always start with the least aggressive pad & compound combination until you have acheived the desired level of correction, and then refine back down to a fine finish.

You will probably want to wash again at this point to remove polish dust & any oils/residue remaining.

Now you'll want to use the Werkstat Paint Cleaner to prepare the surface prior to applying the Werkstat Acrylic Jett Sealant.
If you wish you can use the Werkstat Acrylic Glos QD to further enhance the gloss, this could also be used after washing just to refresh the paint's gloss and to maintain a level of protection in conjunction with the Acrylic Jett.

I've never used Werkstat products myself but have read great things about them, especially about the way they enhance the 'flake pop' of the paint.

thanks I had a look at detailing world ( not use rotary polisher before) , was even more confused , but will start with leased aggressive pad , but what is the main thing I should NOT do with the rotary polisher for example that would cause damage to paint work

scared me now ! lol

It's a little bit long winded but it's very detailed and thorough. It covers the techniques of using the polisher properly & safely, as well as the Do's and Don'ts.

It may be a good idea to practice on a scrap panel if you can get hold of one, so you can get the hang of it before using it on your Scirocco.

Are you trying to correct swirls? Why do yu think you need a machine polisher?

Unless you are addressing a specific paint defect you are probably better off without it.

The Werkstat stuff you have is very easy to apply by hand, especially if you are going to prep with tardis, Iron X and clay bar first.

With the polisher you need to be particularly careful around bends, folds and creases in the bodywork. Its very easy to apply a bit too much pressure on a small pointed or raised section and cut through the paintwork. Especially as the paint layers are often thinner at these points.

Intensive polish 2100
Super finish 4500 and 4000
Fast gloss 500

I have yellow /blue /white and wool pads

I have slight swirling on candy white Volkswagen sirocco

Any idea which polish to use or in what order with pads

First of all be really careful with a rotary polisher, dual action polishers are more forgiving.

You're going to need to start with the least aggressive polish and the least aggressive pad (softest) - I don't know what the wool pad is for.

put a couple of blobs (2-3) of polish (pea size) on the pad and dab it across the area you are going to work.

Start on a very slow speed, about 1/5th of what the machine is capable of and work the polish in the area you want, then up the speed somewhat and give it a single pass... wipe of the remaining polish and view the paint work. Chances are nothing much will of happened but you need to figure out how many passes you are going to need and what combination of pad / polish you require to give the result you want.

A good tip is if the polish seems to be drying out and going "dusty" then just spray your machine pad with water or detail spray and start again, its a good way to keep the stuff lubricated easier to work with / see where you have worked.

thanks for your help , did the windscreen today with ceriglass and just the bonnet with the different polishers
