RNS510 Sat Nav Question

Got a B Version RNS510 on my 90 Scirocco and want to upgrade disc and firmware to get 7 digit postcodes. I have read on here that I need disc V7 minimum but they are really hard to find. I have also read on here that V9 is not suitable for a B unit but they are a lot easier to get hold of and I wonder if anyone on here could confirm that a V9 would still work on a B unit and what firmware I would want with it to get full post code entry.
