Servicing Advice Needed Please

Post by robinalex »

Was a little worried about service history when I bought my 2.0 Tsi two weeks ago but got it for a steal which made up for my concerns. Car drives great but I wonder if you guys could give me some advice about servicing as don't know when it will need one.

First registered in March 2009 so has just passed 4yrs old and is on the Longlife Service Option.

First service was done at 15k in October 2010 (Vw Epsom)
Second service was done at 30k in March 2012 (Vw Epsom)

Both listed in service history as 'Interval Service'

Car had done 41k when I bought it so 11k miles and 12 months since last service and due to my negotiating on the sales price for the car we agreed that it would not be serviced before it left the forecourt.

Does this service history look ok and will the car tell me when it is due for another service? I am a bit worried that it might have been due one when it was sat on the forecourt but they have done something clever to cancel it.

Any help much appreciated.

Car was on longlife so it's either every two years or around 17k, dealers can set the car for longlife or time and distance

I'd switch it to every year I think. The services probably cost twice as much so you might as well spread out the cost and service the car every 12 months. Also you'll need an MOT now it's over 3 years old so you might as well get them both done at the same time every year. Saves on hassle.
