Squeaking

Post by lloydie63 »

Hi all, I have a squeaking coming from what I reckon is the rear suspension on the car, the squeak can only be heard whilst driving relatively slowly when i apply the brakes (forward or reverse) The squeak does not appear in normal driving how ever bad the road surface. If I brake hard there is no squeak. The brakes are fine with no grit/gravel between brakepad and disc. The reason I think it's the suspension is I had an old 4x4 and if I pushed down on a corner then released it the 4x4 would make a very similar sound to my Scirocco.
Any idea's?

Have had it on mine as well. Same on my old mk5 Golf which had the same suspension setup. Was told back then it was the rear shocks upper mounts. In the Rocco it only happens when the temp is cold and only at the start of a journey. Might get it sorted whilst still under warranty.

Thanks for the reply, my Scirocco is just over 3 years old but on an extended warranty, i'll find out if it's still covered, or is a job that can be carried out at home?
