Looking at buying a Rocco Tomorrow

Post by NickRocco3 »

Hi All

first proper post here other than my welcome post!

Im looking at buying a Scirocco and looking at one tomorrow.

The one im going to look at is an early model (2008) with only 12,000 miles on the clock. its a 2.0L GT DSG

I guess i just want to know what basics to look out for as i want to make a good choice.

I have already noticed from looking at the pics of it that it has the old instrument panel (can this be upgraded) ??

also there is the 200 PS and the 210 PS engine revisions....is this just a different map or is there something more significant?

Many Thanks in advance

Nick

Good find for low mileage.... almost two low miles to the degree it makes you wonder why the car was hardly used for the last five years! I had a three year old 12000 mile Golf a few years ago though. I think there is always a 'feel good' factor in a low mileage car. Has it got a one year VW Used Car Warranty?

Enjoy your new Roc :-)

Well done - sounds like you have got a good one. 12K miles on a 2008 is ultra low, and I thought mine was low. I am on 15K on an 09 plate.

I have got the same older style dash (red MFD), I was a bit frustrated as the new dash was announced literally a few weeks after delivery, but I would not bother with any kind of upgrade to the white MFD, despite it looking a little more pleasing to the eye.

Hi All

Well i have had my car for a week now and i am so happy with it its unreal! I have a 6 moth AA gold membership warranty that came from the garage i bought it off (bumper to bumper) this was not bought from a VW dealer.

I will get some photos of it up as soon as i have given it its first wash and actually have some time to take some decent pics!

There are a few scratches and paint chips that i have noticed that i want to get sorted but im being overwhelmed with information on here regarding LED light upgrades! - i want to upgrade interior lights and also my headlights and DRLs to LED if possible, there are so many threads im not really sure where to start!!

Loving the forum here though!

Just for clarity Nick - the small light units with the indicator lenses are sidelights, not DRL's
