Fraying Seat belt

Post by ayeaye »

Typical - the car's out to get me now that a trade-in has been agreed :(

Noticed this evening that the driver's seat belt is fraying - couple of inches in length but seems quite bad. Passed its MOT back in August so either has only happened since then or the dealer didn't do a very good job on the MOT. Car is 3.5 years old.

Anyone know whether this would be covered under the VW extended warranty or if it would be classed as wear and tear (that's my guess) - so if not covered, what sort of cost am I likely to be looking at?

Cheers

VW replaced driver's seat belt under goodwill - can't fault the service received. Was expecting to have to fight to get it covered under the extended warranty and then pay the excess, but nothing.
