Just thought I would throw this at everyone and see what the general feeling is...if you have the software and feel confident would you do your own vehicle?

Already do it as a Six Month Intermediate Service with maintanance EVC inpections. Done because of the short trips and low annual mileage. Only had to get one specialised tool, the coil pack puller. The rest I had to hand. Oil Filter Removal Tool and VCDS diagnostics has always been around, so don't consider that a cost to make it happen. Other tools required are your normal tool kit: metric socket set, Torx Bolt bit drivers and torque wrench.

Cut the main annual service costs down by doing a few of the ancillaries such as pollen filters if due. Need to have the service done in the book to keep warranty valid otherwise. This is the first car I've let the dealers service after delivery.

Other cars are always serviced buy me and its been a good "privately sold" selling point in years gone by to produce the maintenance spreadsheet log. If it weren't for warranty restrictions, the Scirocco III would be on total "in-house" maintenance.
