19'' RS6 Reps - Too big?

Post by niall »

Hey, just thinking about getting a set of the Audi style RS6 replicas for my Scirocco with standard suspension. I am just wondering does anyone know if the 19's make a big difference to the comfort of the Scirocco? I have the 18'' factory turbines on the car at the moment and no problems with them. Just think the 19's may be a bit too harsh for the Irish roads - I had a John Cooper Works and the 18'' wheels on that ended up cracking on me several times because they were too big!
Also what tyre size do ppl recommend? 215/35/19 or 225/35/19 or 235/35/19?

Thanks N

I don't find the 19"wheels too harsh and I'm sure the roads in Scotland are no better than Ireland.

I run the standard size from the factory 235/35x19

Do you find them harsh at all? If you hit a pothole would you know all about it like?

To be honest I don't find them any harsher than the 18s I had on my R32. Yes, I do whince a bit when I hit a pothole but I doubt it would be any different with 18s.

I'm sure somebody will be,along with experience of 18s and 19s on the Rocco to give you a direct comparison.

I have 19" wheels on my Roc, my previous 1.4TSI had 17", I can honestly say I haven't noticed much difference in ride quality between the two. If you hit a pot hole yes you feel it more with the 19's, but I've been quite surprised as this is the first car I owned with 19's.
Not sure I would have specified the 19"'s if I had factory ordered the car as if one gets damaged I believe they are seriously expensive to replace, but ride wise no problem.
