7th Gen iPod connectivity

Post by panhandle »

So i have a 7th gen iPod which has a smaller connection than previous iPods, therefore the iPod connector cable you get from VW won't fit. I have searched ebay and cannot find a 7th gen connector cable and so does anyone have any ideas on how to connect this up, I believe the iPhone 5 also has this new smaller Apple connection (which I suspect will be standard on all new apple kit).

My car didnt find the device using Bluetooth so dont think thats an option either, and even if i can connect, does anyone know if you can have my iPhone connected and a 2nd bluetooth device at the same time?

My phone is a works one so don't really want to be storing all my music on that.

Lastly, I'm thinking maybe just get a small hard drive, anyone recently bought a decent sized portable one?

Thanks very much in advance.

Hi Pan,

I've had no problems connecting my iPhone 5 to my Scirocco using this cable....

Can't comment regarding hard disks I'm afraid.

Matt

Apple sell an old->new adaptor which should work fine.

Sorry for the long wait. Yes I have the lightning adapter and it works. Bit pricey but it is Apple and can at least use it for other things. Cheers all.
