Hi All,
My brand new DSG is still in the breaking period and I noted two things:
When running slow on second gear and I push the gas, whether D or S, the car knocks and doesn't feel smooth. I have to slowly push the gas to avoid this "harsh" feeling. Is this normal?
On pushing the breaks while turning the steering wheel on a low speed I hear a click. Is this normal too?

Re: My R DSG 2nd gear
I won't say it's "normal" or that it should do it, but mine certainly does.
roughly what I'm taking about is taking a junction to the right. I cruise up, apply a little brake, round corner, apply gas.
As I do so there's a distinct clunk as I presume the clutch re-engages, when I put the gas back on. I presume as I brake round the corner, the clutch is off, and the slow speed 2nd gear combo just accentuates this.
This doesn't happen all over the place, just this one corner, each and every time. I suspect the timing of the speed, braking and acceleration is "just right" or "just wrong" here.
Then again, something may be wrong and I should take it back... I'd love to know how to demonstrate it to the mechanics though, I doubt they'd ever be able to replicate it.

Re: My R DSG 2nd gear
Thank you guys!
I think my English is not helping alot in explaining the 2nd gear engagement
It's not a knock as a "serious knock" but it's not as smooth as when you push the gas on 3rd or 4th. It feels like the clutch is not engaged and when I push the gas on 2nd you feel the clutch engagement is a little bit hard. I need to stage my foot on the gas slowely to avoid this sudden engagement. In another word, the car "jumps". I will try to call the dealer and update you guys.
I think the click is gone. I do remember that I washed the car with High Pressure Water few days back and then the click started.
No more washing with High Pressure Water!

Re: My R DSG 2nd gear
This thing is getting worse! My appointment is scheduled on Nov 11th. The rep said not to worry as I'm fully covered.
I hear a click when the car shifts from 2nd to third. A really loud click. Shifting from 2nd to 1st is really harsh and is not smooth.
And yes, is it quite normal that car idle moves from 900 rev to 1100 on manual or s mode?
What about the downshiftig in D mode? Does the car rev up few revs?
I guess I have to wait. I really think that the mechatronics is faulty.

Re: My R DSG 2nd gear
I just got the car back after the maintenance is done. The click is still there and I have been told that my car is totally fine!
Lucky enough, the dealer had a 2012 Scirocco R with 15k kms on the odometer. We took it for a ride.
The same sound is there. Mine is a 2013 model.
