Noisy gear change. Help?

Post by whiteDevil_170 »

Noticed that changing from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd there is only what i could describe as a clonking noise , as the gear goes into position. It's louder when cold. Even when car is warmed up it does it. Never done it when I first got it.
Is this anything to worry about?
Thanks!
Jack

Hi there,
Well, I had this problem on my Renault (before I got my Roc), it was under warranty so I took it in.

Guess what - it needed a new gearbox after only 20000 miles!!!! So yeah, I would get it checked just incase. If you are under warranty, (which I think we are safe to say you are), then all good
