Hello fellow Rocco's. I write this to let you know what an invaluable tool Scirocco Central, its regular contributors and their advice is. This is particularly the case when dealing with difficult dealers. Just recently I have been able to use advice from the Forum twice. The first occasion was in relation the the"Waste Gate Rattle." The dealer, which rates as one of the best in the country and has always given sterling service, did not even want to acknowledge that the issue existed and I was told that the noise was merely one of the characteristics of the 2.0 TSI engine. So I e-mailed the Service Manager the link from this Forum describing the fault,how to fix it and the part number involved. The next day I was asked if I could visit them to have the repair carried out at no cost. Then just last week I noticed that one of the Heated Rear Window elements was defective. Again, I did my research on the Forum and discovered that more than a few owners had similar problems. This time I took "Screen Shots" on my phone a went to the dealer. The Sevice Manager said that;
a) They had never had such a complaint,
b) The Diagnostic showed No Fault,
c) I would have to photograph and mark the faulty element,
d) Only then would a claim be considered,
e) They would require 4-6 weeks to get a new window from Germany and need the car for 2 days to carry out the
repair.
That is when I showed him the other complaints all for the same problem as shown on Scirocco Central.His bluff had been called and I was immediately offered;
a) A guarantee of a new rear window in no more than 10 days,
b) A courtesy car would be sent to me, my car taken back to the dealer and the repair done in 2days,
c) All work and parts to irrevocably be covered by the guarantee/warrantee.
It is unfortunate and unpleasant when you have to resort to this kind of action, but the results are nothing short of astonishing. So to Scirocco Central and its regular contributors, thank you for your input and keep up the good work.

Re: Scirocco Central an excellent Forum
Completely agree, Scirocco Central is an excellent source of information, it is amazing how many times we have to give the dealer info for which they apparently have 'no knowledge'.

I agree this board is great. I don't even own a roc and I lurk here reading info related to my Jetta.
