werkstat acrylic kit
Has anyone used the werkstat acrylic kit ie prime jett and gloss on their candy roc. I've just abandoned collinite which is giving the white a cream look which i dont like although the protection and beading is great. Im looking for tips on application and removal especially.

Had that with 476s. Wasn't the wax.veeedubba wrote:I've just abandoned collinite which is giving the white a cream look
Went over the car with Dodo Juice Lime Prime Pre-Wax Cleanser wash then Meguiar's Finishing Polish No. 205 & DAS6 + 3M Blue pad.
That removed what looked more like traffic film staining in the top of the clear lacquer top coat without really cutting the top surface.
Back to brilliant white with 476s on again.
The other point to note is that the white paint will tone down with time.

Cheers for that, will give the werkstat a try as this is the second Candy i've owned and will post the results. I was told on detailing world that the Carnuba in the Collinite was responsible and that i'd see a vast difference using the acrylic to the finish.

Yep I use the Werkstatt kit on mine, http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... =31&t=6314
It's really easy to use and I've always been impressed with the results

Don't know if its the light or what but the Roc in your photo seems to have a semi-matt / eggshell shine to it.
I changed my wax for the same reasons - my missus kept pointing out other Candies that were much white than mine.
I've been using Supernatural Hybrid (part wax part sealant) for the last year and its made a difference - no longer creamy white. Its not cheap but 2 coats easily lasts 6 months and you don't need to use much.

Re: werkstat acrylic kit
I have used Werkstat kit since 09 since my car was going creamy like above as mentioned.
I have just recently splashed out on Swissvax Glacier and I am over the moon with application and result.....but it comes at a price

Re: werkstat acrylic kit
I have started my detailing hobby with the werkstatt products and the sealant is really easy to use. spray on and wipe off.
When that ran out, i switched to Carlack 68 ( apparentlythey are of the same formula) longlife sealant. The problem is you need to mix it with water because using it neat would make it too difficult to remove.
I use the old empty werkstatt bottle so that i am still spraying on and wiping off.
The result is like a glass/ ceramic finish. The shine is very 'wet'.
i have also been experimenting with a product called nanolex on the roof and bonnet. The finish seems a little, only a little less glassy. I would say neutral, as this sealant is transparent.

I use carlack but don't dilute it to apply skyblues, I do a panel or two at a time layering the 2 products in line with the timescales the guys over at clean your car gave me & only once I think have needed to spritz a small amount of water on it to remove but it was a very sunny day.
It seems pretty durable

Re: werkstat acrylic kit
I use it on my Candy and have found it very good. Easy to use, it just takes some time to apply all the stages but each stage is easy enough.
I prepped it with Tardis and Iron-X first and got great results. It was ridiculously shiny when I finished, strangers in a car park at the beach commented on it which was nice.
