Thanks for all your replies guys. Yeah have obviously experimented with the manual brightness setting...and that does help to some extent...would just be nice if there was a total kill for the screen for night driving that doesnt mean turning the stereo off!

I have just taken delivery of my new ROC...for the most part extremely pleased.

Can anyone tell me, is there a way to switch off the screen on the RCS-510 whilst it is still powered up? Not liking the bright light for night time driving.
