Re: Pads and Discs
Im not sure what the coating is made from but its just called "black coating". You can search for it on MTEC's website. Jay thanks for AKS' details. I had a call from Demon-Tweeks saying they had the DS2500's in stock and i could have them for £244. I ended up just accepting them as Awesom...

Re: Pads and Discs
So i have ordered the Discs (MTEC1471) and (MTEC1597) with black coating. With the discount it come to £230.18. Was just phoning up a few places as trying to source either the Ferodo DS2500's or Mintex m1144's is seemingly more difficult than i thought. Spoke with a few companies who swore blind Fer...

Re: Victor
That looks like a right ordeal. You should sell the cup spoiler immediately to avoid this scenario again. Preferably to someone with the same colour car as you
Jokes apart that looks like it's taken a lot of time, patience and dedication. Great job and great guide

Re: Pads and Discs
For the extra £15/£30 i would rather have rather rust free discs as i have seen someone complain about how quickly they deteriorate ! There seems to be loads of conflicting info regarding the size of the rear discs. I have always thought they are 310mm but the likes of GSF/MTEC etc seem to suggest 2...

Re: Pads and Discs
Sounds good to me. Im not sure i can afford the calipers right now be looking but if its only the calipers and hoses i need to change then i may as well get the discs and pads and change the calipers when funds permit? Having a look on MTEC's website it seems that for what you are suggesting to orde...

I need pads and discs all round so it wont just be £800? Will the caliper use the same discs?xjay1337 wrote:If you are going to be Stage 2/+ so 350bhp you can afford £800 for decent 4 piston calipers and pads.

Re: New personal lease Scirocco R coming late Feb/ early Mar
Can I just confirm I'm getting this right. You guys are leasing the Scirocco R for £200 a month with mileage allowance of 5000 with an initial deposit of approx £2000?
I've not leased before but if those kind of deals exist then I can see why people go down this route!

Re: Pads and Discs
Ive ran Mtec disks and Mintex pads before. was spot on for me and I did 2 track days. Dont forget to change your fluid aswell What set up are you running at the moment? I will change the brake fluid at the same time. Any suggestions on that? Some people are suggesting using dot 5.1 as opposed to 4....

Pads and Discs
I have searched, researched and the rest but I thought I would ask the question here. It won't be long and I will be running either stage 2 or 2+. I am planning on driving the car once or twice on the track and where safe spirited driving on the road and then the rest normal usage. I can't afford a ...

Re: New personal lease Scirocco R coming late Feb/ early Mar
I've had mine just over a year now on lease with national vehicle solutions. £201pcm. I'm on 9000miles and front tyres will need replacing in the next month or so. It's a very competent car, drives really nicely, good sound system, ride is good. On the negatives mpg is pretty crap, I'm averaging 23...

Thanks mate! Although it's accidental as I did say when the wheels where being returned to spray them Anthracite but they come back as "Skyline grey" and I am quite impressed with the colour.Papanick wrote:I really love the total black look!

Re: Springs, spacers, exhaust, spoiler
I'm on VWR springs on my R which where recommended over H&R and Eibach as the garage said Scirocco customers complained about them being crashy. I have To say they are impressive. I think it's only a 20mm drop but that's also I personally wanted the car to drop by. Exhaust is always going to be ...

Re: Make my R louder
R stock exhaust is well done IMO No drone Deep bassy sound without sounding like a fart cannon. If I so much as tickle the throttle down a street its not unusual for people to turn around to see what is coming. You'd be surprised the volume you hear in the car certainly isn't what is heard outside....
