i get a similar thing mate, though ive never had problems with the engine burning oil like the early 1.4 engines did. (oil gets changed every 12 months rather than 6) My conclusion of it is that these little 1.4's run pretty hot. So i think its more of a 'Hot' Smell, if you get my meaning. ive notic...

a revo mapped 1.4 160 puts out 220hp and 220 lb torque. Due to the nature of the power curve does 0-60 in approx 5.7 (same as an R) and returns 45 mpg on the motorway and 30-35mpg easily round town. Theres not much hot hatch wise that has beaten my 1.4 off the line...

Hi mate, ive been running a remap on mine for a while now with no issues. its revo though. I changed my spark plugs the other day and getting the coil packs out is a little tricky, you can get a proper tool off ebay for doing it. so as far as removing them, its not too difficult

Im not sure mate would have to look around. Eibach say they lower 25mm but i think they go lower tbh

easily. dont rev above 2000. the range will say 20 miles but ive had mine down to zero miles and still done 3 or 4. Literally just granny foot it everywhere lol.

if its an everyday car, go for the eibach pro springs, lowers 25-30 mm. gives a nice 1 inch arch gap all round... for carbon fibre mirror covers look on parts4euro.com theres a set on there for 170 dollars (100 squid).

Another good company are BBR GTI theyve been in the biz for years. way before revo and apr i believe, a friend at work owns a franchise for them and he reckons they are better... whether thats true....
