Re: Immobilizer Active... UPDATED - Getting a bit better
"Qualified" VW techs don't know anything the manual doesn't tell them, they follow instructions to remove part "x" and replace it with new part "y". They generally can't "fix" anything, just swap parts. With previous Golf issues, it's been surprising how little they know about issues that seem to be common faults when you look on the forums.
They also have a tendancy to snap all those little trim pegs when doing warranty work and not replace them - they lost all but 1 of the rubber gromits that the pegs of the plastic engine cover sit into on my last Golf, that cover rattled for weeks - drove me mad.

Re: Immobilizer Active... UPDATED - Getting a bit better
Hi,
Just wondering if you have had an update from VW about your car?
I got my Roc about 4 weeks ago and it is exactly the same spec as yours (black, sat nav, leather with the 17inch Spa alloys). I had this problem in the first few days, perhaps twice/three times but all I had to do was restart the car and it was fine. It only cut out once and a restart fixed it.
This afternoon I got back to my car and started it and I got 'Immobilzer Active' and the engine just cut off. I tried for about ten minutes and I was about to ring the RAC when I tried it and really revved the engine which then started. I have since got home and tried it a few times. Every time I start I get immobilizer active and I can only start the car by really revving the engine?!?
Wondering if it is a problem with the batch?
Anyway would be much appreciated if you could update us on where you are upto?
Thanks
