Bluetooth/Radio

Post by Ian1505 »

I recently bought a 2.0 tsi gt that has an RCD510 radio but the Bluetooth isn't working so I can't connect my phone. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks in advance

Are you sure the car has Bluetooth?

It only became standard after the end of 2011. Prior to this is was a cost option.

If the car has BT, the module is located under the driver's seat (RHD) and there is a phone menu in the MFD between the speedo and the Rev counter, when you scroll through the screens.

If you don't have it then it can be retro-fitted.

I just checked under the seat and there is no module. Where's the best place to get one or can I use a USB Bluetooth in the MDI? The radio has a "phone" button but only mutes the radio.Image

You don't have Bluetooth and no you can't use a USB BT dongle in the MDI.

You can buy the BT kits off eBay or these guys in Poland

Depending on where you are located, these guys can fit the module for you.

Have a search on the forum as the topic has been covered many times.
