could be the steering wheel was fitted one or two splines out. just take it back to the dealer and they can check it and put it right.

I am no lawyer or expert in this field but I understand that under the sale of goods act you can reject the goods as not fit for purpose or of not of merchandable quality and ask for your money back.

I've got the same problem with paint (it's Supaguarded)...rising blue. I washed the car yesterday (with all the Supaguard stuff) and noticed that quite a few new scratches appeared. I've had metallic and pearlescent paint on previous cars (blue and silver..not VW's) and not had problems with scratc...
