Re: VCDS error "Function Restricted due to Insufficient Volt
Chaps, many thanks all for the advice. I now have a solution (so far). Key symptoms were phone shutting down due to low voltage, random front right treble speaker open circuit and spurious "ESP Fault" messages. Battery was tested by ATS who show it Good and 85% cranking ability. Changed ba...

Battery Drain - RNS 510 firmware combinations
Afternoon all, really struggling to get to the bottom of my VCDS issues, but think it's all about me retro-fitting the RNS 510 and phone kit. So in short I have a 10 plate Scirocco and fitted the following: Address 37: Navigation (J0506) Labels: 1T0-035-680.clb Part No SW: 1T0 035 680 D HW: 1T0 035 ...

Just spotted this article. http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Navigation_System_(RNS510" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)_Retrofitting If I look at my CAN HW I can see this 1K0 907 530 AD Putting the 2 together does this mean my CAN Bus and RNS are incompatible, hence b...

Re: VCDS error "Function Restricted due to Insufficient Volt
I read a few suggestions about the SD card in the front of the unit causing problems so I have removed it. A few days later the familiar chime of an error being logged. The following is the VCDS scan report that I have just taken and there are a few new ones there: Friday,18,April,2014,19:20:05:4686...

VCDS error "Function Restricted due to Insufficient Voltage"
Afternoon all, a very brief background before the reams of VCDS output I have had a 10 plate car from new that was supplied without Navigation or Bluetooth. I added both best part of 3 years back and both continue to work however I occasionally received the following error "13893632 - Function ...

Re: In Car Cameras and RNS-510
Why would you want to display what is happening in front of the car on the screen in the dash? Just look through the windscreen. The idea is to buy an in-car camera that is discrete, however there is a trend towards cameras with LCD screens (just look at Halfords). So the number 1 requirement is to...

Re: In Car Cameras and RNS-510
I have but the only camera related bit I could see was for a reversing camera, however I would have thought there is a VW solution without a Kufatek interface.
Happy for you to point out the blindingly obvious bit I'm missing . .

Re: In Car Cameras and RNS-510
I get the lack of responses suggests that this might not be as straight forward as I had thought.
Could anyone recommend an in-car camera that can be discreetly mounted to the windscreen as I've seen some that are hideous

In Car Cameras and RNS-510
Afternoon all, I have some birthday money burning a hole and am thinking of buying an in-car / dash / windscreen mount camera. I have done some research and a key differentiator is some are purely a camera (with memory card) and some also have a small screen. I have the RNS 510 fitted and know it's ...

Re: Headlights on all the time
Hi roadrat, I tried to get the dealer to turn them off as they did not behave as per the instruction manual. They raised the issue with VW, but the technican left the dealership. I tried with VW and they said "speak to the dealer if they do not behave as per the instruction manual". Back t...

Re: Lights Trouble......
Mine is a 10 plate and the MFD method does not work (even though described in the handbook and attemted by the dealer). VW flatly refused to help or even listen to me when I explained they had disabled a feature (auto dusk lights) I had paid for. The only way is VAGCOM / VCSD. Where in the country a...

Re: RNS with the mic working for phone but not voice activat
I bought the BT kit separate, but for me the loom it came with had the 3 mic connectors as per 182_blue's pictures. The kit I bought is a VW genuine so if I were you, I'd have a quick look before spending any money. You should be ok

Re: RNS with the mic working for phone but not voice activat
Morning chaps, finally got round to trying the suggestions and got round to posting the findings. You were spot on with the fact I had connected the mike on the cable to the BT unit and not via the RNS. Took 20 mins start to finish to take HU out, change leads, check, and refit. Big thanks for the a...

Re: RNS with the mic working for phone but not voice activat
So if I understand correctly, the 3 white block connectors in your diagram should all be connected, without the need for another harness?

Re: RNS with the mic working for phone but not voice activat
BT self installed, so it sounds like I need to look at how it's connected into the loom... Is this the Kufatec harness you ar referring to? http://www.kufatec.co.uk/shop/product_info.php/info/p1483_c321_Voice-control---Retrofit---VW-RNS-510.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return fals...

Re: RNS with the mic working for phone but not voice activat
I use the star key and get the guidance of " say Radio, cd ..." but no words are understood. Also coded steering wheel so I can press the button on left spoke at bottom (used to mute radio )
