Re: Black roof lining

For anyone in the UK who's trying to "look on the bright side", consider this: At the moment, I'm going to have to wait about a year before I can afford to order a 1.4 TSI 160PS, whereas if I lived in the UK, I could have a fully loaded 2.0TSI GT by now. That's the difference in a nutshel...

Re: Black roof lining

You UK guys are not getting a bad deal! The car is cheaper and better specced in UK. The only downside is that you can't spec the catch-up upholstery (which does look pretty nice in pictures, and would certainly be a cheaper alternative to the leather) or the 122PS engine (why you'd want to do that ...

Re: Black roof lining

The UK is the only market (as far as I know) where ACC and the RCD510 are standard. It's also the only market with a GT trim level. No such thing elsewhere - we just pick which options we want. Also, I think it's the only market where there are only 3 engine choices. The rest of Europe gets a forth:...

Re: Black roof lining

I don't remember seeing it as a desctption so maybe its standard on the car. The audi A3 only had a black roof lining in S-Line spec. Is that what you are thinking? Yeah. The review on youtube of the 1.4 vs 2.0 had a white roof lining... I guessed it was a GT thing as the 1.4 is non GT... I'm guess...

Re: 1.4 TSI Reliability

No experience of it (yet!) but I'm pretty sure it's available in the Golf VI, and I'd be damn surprised if VW put any engine into a Golf (whatever about a niche car like the Scirocco) that wasn't tested all the way to hell and back.

Re: Could you live without the Adaptive Chassis Control?

so the question is jphealy are your going to tike the box or not? decisions, decisions :) I certainly want to tick the box, but the question is - how much is a reasonable amount to spend on extras? It'll be the 1.4 160, which is €29k, and I want to add Interlagos wheels, Sport Pack (includes Catch-...

Re: Stereo Volume!

filo1908 - why did you get the RCD310? I thought the 510 was standard in the UK? So maybe you're not in the UK? I'm in Ireland, where the RCD510 costs an extra €805, and if you want the RCD510 with Dynaudio, it's €1,552!

Could you live without the Adaptive Chassis Control?

I'm in Ireland and I still have not decided whether to order my Scirocco here or in Northern Ireland. A bit cheaper and better spec in the North, but much more hassle. Anyway, if I decide to order at home, I'll have to consider whether to choose the ACC as an option (not standard as it is in UK). It...

Re: First 1.4 TSI in Belfast

I still haven't decided yet for sure, but this is what I'm thinking. If I was to by in the South, I'd get the 1.4 160PS with sport package, Interlagos alloys, lights and mirror pack, RCD 510 radio and multi-media socket (standard in North), multi-function s'wheel, parking sensors and tyre pressure m...

Re: First 1.4 TSI in Belfast

Andecoro, Do you have the merlin cloth, rather than leather? According to this page http://car.kak.net/2008/07/03/the-new-volkswagen-scirocco-in-depth/ the roof comes as "Titanium black", rather than "Pearl gray" if you get the 2.0TSI, or if you get any other model either with th...

Cruise on a manual

This might be a stupid question, but do they fit cruise control to manual cars? The only cars I've ever seen or driven, that had cruise, have had auto 'boxes. So can you get cruise control on a manual Scirocco then?

Roof lining colour

Can anyone with a 1.4, or who has seen a 1.4, tell me if it has black or grey roof lining? In Ireland, the 1.4 comes with a grey roof lining, rather than the black that comes with the 2.0 TSI. To get the black roof lining on the 1.4 you have to get the sport pack, which isn't an option in the UK. I'...

What does this do??

I keep seeing this control and can't work out what it's for. It's the round button with four dimples(?) at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock. These seats are manual rather than electric, so that's what's confusing me. I think I've only seen it on the leather seats - or is it on all?
